Active Explorers Helensville has three separate rooms for each age and stage, ensuring children’s different needs and interests are ideally catered for.

Nursery

This warm and welcoming space provides loving care for our under 2s.

Daily Rhythm

7:00 am: Centre opens/morning settling routine

8:30 am: Free play/inside provocations/outside area opens (weather permitting)

9:15 am: Wash hands, morning kai

9:45 am: Nappies checked/free play/inside provocations/outside play (weather permitting)

11:00 am: Mat time

11:15 am: Wash hands/lunch/nappies checked

1:00 pm: Inside provocation/free play inside and out

2:15 pm: Wash hands, afternoon kai

2:45 pm: Free play and provocations inside and out/nappies checked

3:30 pm: Tidy sandpit and outside

4:00 pm: Mat time

5:00 pm: Late snack

6:00 pm: Centre closes

This routine is flexible to meet children’s individual needs, and we also follow children’s individual sleep routines. A wide range of activities and learning experiences (provocations) are provided throughout the day, designed to inspire thoughts, discussions, questions, interests, creativity and ideas.
