Welcome to Active Explores St Lukes

We would like to thank you for incredible care, dedication and love to our daughter and other kids. It has been an amazing experience for her, her very first English-speaking society experience and a great way to adopt in New Zealand. As parents, we noticed a significant improvement in her speaking, social skills, crafting, drawing and other aptitudes. Our special appreciation goes to all the Pohutukawa teachers.

The staff at Active Explorers are so kind and have a genuine interest in the kids. It's not just a job. I can rest assured they care about my son. The Centre Manager is lovely, friendly, approachable and flexible. I also love that they are given a healthy home-cooked meals by the talented chef Csilla.

My daughter loves Active Explorers. How do I know? Because she is smiling when the lift opens in the morning, because she waves and smiles to everybody we meet in the hall, because she gives high fives, because she hugs her teacher, because I see joy on her face when I arrive in the afternoon. That is why I love Active Explorers, too.

Learning about Oral Health

This month is an exciting month at Active Explorers St Lukes where we prepare for the team at Oral Health to share their exciting annual presentation. We keep close to the Auckland University of Technology where this programme is run by the students. The children at the centre play a pivotal role in this presentation designed by the students as their contribution to what is offered determines the success of this programme. For the past 5 years we have incorporated this connection into our programme at the centre and it compliments well with our Healthy Heart Award (Gold) Status.

Springing into October!

September was a vibrant month at Active Explorers St. Lukes, starting with a heartfelt celebration of our amazing dads on Father’s Day. The children showcased their creativity with a delightful performance, and handmade gifts that truly reflected their love and appreciation for their fathers. As we move toward the end of September and welcome October, we’re turning our focus to health and hygiene. In preparation for Global Handwashing Day on October 15, our little ones have been busy practicing essential handwashing techniques. We believe that teaching these habits not only keeps our children healthy but also instills a sense of responsibility for their own well-being. Stay tuned for more exciting activities as we continue to learn and grow together!
